Textiles Fire Testing

Welcome To Ignito Labs

If you’re in the textile industry, you understand how important it is to ensure your products are safe for use. One way to do this is by testing them for fire safety. Ignito Labs offers comprehensive textile fire testing services to help you meet safety standards and regulations.
Our textile fire testing methods comply with industry standards such as ASTM, ISO, and NFPA. We offer a range of tests to ensure that your products meet the necessary fire safety standards. Below are some of the textile fire testing methods available at Ignito Labs

Our textiles fire testing capabilities include:

1. Vertical Burn Test (ASTM D6413): This test measures the flame resistance of fabrics and textiles that are intended for use in protective clothing. The test exposes a vertical specimen to a controlled flame, and the results are based on the time it takes for the flame to reach the top and bottom of the sample. 2. 45-Degree Flammability Test (ASTM D1230): This test evaluates the flame resistance of textiles, plastics, and other materials that are used in consumer products. The test exposes a sample to a controlled flame at a 45-degree angle, and the results are based on the time it takes for the flame to self-extinguish. 3. Heat Release Rate Test (ASTM E1354): This test measures the amount of heat released during a fire. It’s used to evaluate the fire hazard of materials, such as fabrics and textiles, and can help identify potential fire hazards early in the product development process. 4. Radiant Panel Test (ASTM E162): This test evaluates the flame spread of materials under controlled heat exposure. The test exposes a sample to radiant heat, and the results are based on the time it takes for the flame to spread across the surface of the material. 5. Cone Calorimeter Test (ISO 5660): This test evaluates the heat release rate, smoke production, and other properties of materials under controlled conditions. It’s used to evaluate the fire hazard of materials, such as fabrics and textiles, and can help identify potential fire hazards early in the product development process. 8. Testing of textiles and furniture according to IMO FTP Code, Resolution MSC.61(67), Annex 1 Part 7-9) 9. Textile fabrics – Determination of ease of ignition of vertically oriented specimens, DIN EN ISO 6940 (DIN EN 1101) 10. Textiles and textile products – Measurement of flame spread of vertically oriented specimens with large ignitions source, DIN EN 13772 / 13773
